Baggage and Luggage, What are you carrying?

Thank God for Freedom! There,....I said it hooray. I've tried over and over again not to hold a grudge, to give and forget and for some reason it doesn't always seem to work. ( just trying to be honest sometimes I really suck at it) Sometimes you hear something and you just get it. I really give the credit to my best friend, Jesus Christ, no seriously, sometimes he and the Holy Spirit talk about you and say we'll let him get this one now! So again Thanks Lord you are amazing with a capital Z!

So to get to the point, I had a big fat Husky fist full screw you for a certain person in my life. Just a little back drop for you; this person has put more knives in my back than dimples in a case of golf balls if you know what I mean. Now, time and time gain I had done the "good lil' Christian boy thing" and let it go and believed the good in all. Much to my "surprise" it happened again and this time to a much greater degree. Needless to say I'd finally had my fill and I decided to say screw you pal, friendship No business fine because I have to. Of course you know as neat as The Lord is he had a little plan put together that would ultimately lead to my freedom.


So,.. day after day I carry the baggage, lugging it around with my own little axe to grind. I protected my baggage, justified it and even kept it clean and tidy, you know your baggage doesn't hurt anyone else it really only drags you down, heavy clumsy and for lack of a better word annoying . What I heard and really made sense to me is the baggage and Luggage analogy. So baggage is present past and Luggage is present future. What made a major impression on me is the point that baggage isn't something you've packed for yourself , you've actually given someone else the privilege to pack it for you. So what ever they want to pack away they stick it in the baggage and you get the joy of carrying it around. Now luggage on the other hand is something you pack for yourself for a purpose, kinda like planning ahead for a trip or an adventure, you get to pack your favorite clothes some goodies your music and what ever else you think will help you along the way.

The whole time I carry the baggage around Im busy living in the past, and whats even more exciting is I give someone else power over my thoughts and my life, ( yuck!) No one deserves that right? So I decided I would lay the baggage down and really start living present future and pack my luggage with things that will inspire, encourage, and uplift myself and those around me. Isnt the Lord brilliant! I feel free, and empowered. Hey you may already have this perfected but to me its a great sense of revelation, I can finnally take the power out of the hands of the accuser and place it back where it belongs, to me and my creator. Rock on Q and ditto for you my Lord you are wonderful!

I'm happy for today and......

i'm inspired. Many people may think it an insult to be labeled a follower as apposed to a leader. I myself am convinced that unless I learn how to follow I can't lead effectively. Not to be misunderstood, I do not have an unpleasent view of being a leader I have just taken some silly paths to get to what I thought would solidify me as a leader, but I guess without falling you cant learn how to get up. For chapters of my life I lost myself in other peoples direction and advice ( I still take advice ). What I have now is a healthy dose of balance. I listen more, observe and digest, then I check it against my innerman. I tend to be such a concrete thinker, at peoples direction I would catch myself trying to go 3 ways all differnt directions, and theres few things funnier than thinking back and saying Quincy, what were you thinking? Every leader is following something right? So in my life once I've learned to be the best follower that experience can buy, that inturn will allow me to take the next step. All of this to say I'm so excited about today and what experince it holds, I know somehow it is all for my benefit. Have you ever read Ephesians chapter 2 in the Bible? That my peeps is a very exciting chapter.

I'm blogging. Do people put random yak on these blogs? Well that will be the case with me I'm certain, so if random gibberish frustrates you, well you might as well stick around and get a healthy dose from me. I think this blog for me will be an outlet to post prayers, rants and other gooey morsels of you guessed it random gibberish. Well this was fun God bless you fellow life form now go brush your teeth.
